LEGO(R) Six Bricks Lead Trainer & Facilitator Conference – May 2023

I was in heaven for 1 week at Care for Education, Johannesburg in late May.

As one of the few Lead Trainers of LEGO(R) Six Bricks Facilitators around the world, I am honored to be invited to the LEGO(R) Six Bricks Facilitators Seminar in 2023 organized by Care for Education with Support from The LEGO Foundation

More than 30 Facilitators from all around the world converged to share best practices on how we have used LEGO(R) Six Bricks to make an impact on the lives of people, children especially.

It was a learning experience unlike no other. I learned how you can use Six Bricks to help the visually impaired and autistic children Pamela Capriglione RQTU. I learned how to teach young children how to code using just the bricks with no computer Edward Roman Malinowski. I learned how to teach very complex engineering skills through the process of tinkering with Bricks. I learned a new profound word that I love to the core, Bobiço, all thanks to my new Turkish buddies (Sera Yöndem and Belma Tugrul).

More importantly, I learned the true essence of love as a community with a common mission to serve children, especially the less privileged ones. We visited three schools and witnessed how the lives of children were transformed through LEGO(R) Six Bricks and it boosted my eternal passion to serve them. I love every bit of it.

My long-awaited reunion with all my buddies on my LEGO(R) Six Bricks coddiwompling journey was without a doubt pure happiness beyond words can adequately describe especially my reunion with Brent Hutcheson, Nancy Frank, and Linda Smith and my classmates in 2019 (Pesvien Neo, Binal Kamdar, Miriam O Donoghue, Frank Rütten, Abigail Friedman, Mrunal Shah) where my journey of SIx bricks begun.

Getting to know inspiring new friends (Jana Sauer, Raphael Lok, SPHRi, SHRM-SCP, Vanessa Ouwerling-Heel, Lisa Wingham, Elana Le Roux, Denise Meyerson, karen lai, Belma Tugrul, Tracy Lloyd, Calvin Cheung, Emilie Nygaard Brix, Saira Gulamani, Martin Pender, Rose Mary, Jaco Van Der Merwe, Ainslie Howie, Deb Palmer, Lisa, Beverly Da Costa and many more) was equally precious and incredibly nourishing. It adds enormous joy to my being (especially the Cape Town buddies, Binal Kamdar, Deepti Reehal, Joe Chan, Lo Sio Sut, Vicky and Ilse Vaesen). I will always remember the night that we played “Who am I” among friends that we connected at our soul levels and that crazy slow-motion video we took at Cape Point.

To my beloved roommate, Joe Chan. Your heart of gold and your willingness to altruistically serve others are awesomeness beyond words. You will be my bro for life!

Not a day after that week went by without me feeling that I am intimately connected to yours.

Thank you for the love and caring from the bottom of my heart.

My coddiwompling journey continues …
