Systems Thinking Habits for Leaders of SMRT TEL

March has been a really busy month for me.

One of the reasons is because I have this opportunity to customize, design and implement two rounds of systems thinking habits programme for leaders of SMRT Corporation Ltd TEL group that focuses predominantly on driving transformative changes.

I am deeply impressed by the level of commitment to excellence and the people-centred culture that I have witnessed from these leaders (Shahrin Abdol Salam). It warmed my heart to know we have people who work through the clocks to deliver the best in class train system to our population with a relentless desire for continuous improvement.

The programme started out with senior leaders of the SMRT TEL group and was followed up with the Champions who are managers of various departments. The emphasis is to allow these leaders to be equipped with the knowledge and skills of systems thinking habits to drive transformative change effectively, a difficult tall order for an increasingly connected and dynamics business operating environment.

The programme design evolved from my years of designing and implementing such leadership programmes when I was the Chief Information and Learning Officer with Monde Nissin Corporation, a USD1 billion company that HQ in Philippines and operates also in Singapore, Thailand and UK.

Due to the repeated refinement and contextualisation of my design to Singapore’s companies (e.g. Institute of Technical Education, National Community Leadership Institute, Mayflower Primary, Sports SG, NUS Scale, Monde Nissin Thailand, and ANZ bank), I have perfected the delivery that combines my expertise and the best of science in coaching and mentoring, learning, facilitation and habit formulation to achieve tangible learning results for my clients.

In a world that is going to be increasingly connected, dynamic and complex, we need more leaders to embrace the habits of thinking in systems. I am not exaggerating when I say that our planet’s future depends on more leaders applying systems thinking habits in their decision-making process.
