LEGO(R) Serious Play

The Magic of LEGO(R) Serious Play

I never played with LEGO(R) when I was young, although I love getting my hands on gaming devices.

It never occurred to me how the serependity exploration of wanting to use LEGO(R) bricks in my systems thinking class to help my learners transform their thinking habits can lead me to the method LEGO(R) SERIOUS PLAY(R) [LSP] and LEGO(R) Six Bricks [6B].

Since 2017 after being certified as a LSP facilitator, my life has been transformed. I rediscovered within me a passion of play that I never really took it seriously before.

I met like minded people who we see not only eyes to eyes but hearts to hearts about the importance of play to connect and learn from each other. I presented in multiple occasions in LSP conferences both internationally and regionally.

Many LSP facilitators that I met have become buddies for life. It is a coddiwompling experience at its best and my life is not only enriched but elevated to another whole new level because our relationships.

A week ago, we concluded on first LSP Asia Pacific Conference since covid19 in Singapore. I created new friendships and rekindled existing ones. Words cannot express the deep sense of kinship that I have with many of the familiar and new friends I met in the 2 days of learning esp. the “green couple”.

It is this sort of life experiences with friends of LSP that always warmed my heart and gave me purpose and meaning. It is as if we are back to times when we were children, connected at our souls, pure and beautiful.

While LSP continues to be a great tool for problem solving, strategy development, systems thinking, communication and even coaching that I have applied and helped many organisations and individuals over the years, it is these relationships I had that have been most rewarding for me.

Thank you for being my friends in this lifetime especally my “shit stirring, asshole LSP facilitator buddies” [you know who you are] and I hope if there is a next lifetime, we will continue to meet and become friends again.
