It is a great honor and privilege to be given this opportunity to run a LEGO(R) SERIOUS PLAY(R) [LSP] strategy development for the council members (consisting of many DCEO, CHROs and HR Directors) and senior management of Singapore Human Resources Institute [SHRI] on 14 Jan 2023, Sat with my buddy, Catherine Ineke Nauli.
The design went through several discussions and fine tuning among the Executive Director of the Insitute Alvin Aloysius Goh (MSHRI, MCIPD, IHRP-SP) and Ineke using my tried and tested facilitation methodology perfected over a decade to ensure the close alignment with the objectives of the workshop.
To be honest, it wasn’t an easy project. I am thankful for having buddy like Ineke to sharpen our design.
Incorporated within the LSP workshop design was the use of a printed large canvas specially designed for strategy development. This was the second time that I had used LSP with the large canvas. The last time I did that was in 2020 for a very successful large-scale LSP culture development programme for more than 100 staff in ITE.
This time, the results were rewarding for the participants and enriching for me. It reaffirms my belief that specially designed large canvas + customized strategy development process + LSP are a very effective approach for strategy development.
It was also, for the first time in my >6 years of facilitating >60 LSP sessions of varying difficulties, that I have seen people building three tiers dynamics models. I meant two tiers, reasonably common. Three tiers, unheard of. Super impressed by the creativity of the team. When combined with the large canvas, it produced, in my view, incredible insights on the strategic paths forward for SHRI for 2023. Not to mention, I have a wonderful experience catching up with my Business Excellence Camades, Tan Lawrence and Sabrina Loi.

It is an opportunity to value add to a company like this that gave me a strong sense of accomplishment, satisfaction and purpose in what I do for a living ????.
