Stories of Asia’s Mentor-Mentee Monthly Event – Give & Take Circle Facilitation with LEGO(R) Six Bricks

I would never expect a call to serve the Stories of Asia‘s mentor-mentee monthly meetup session would go viral in Linkedin.
I received more than 30 invitations to connect and multiple posts from participants on Linkedin expressing gratitude on how my unique Give and Take circle facilitation technique (incorporated with LEGO(R) Six Bricks activities) had created a safe, fun and engaging space for sharing and learning among mentors and mentees. I even had participants requesting me to do it again for the Stories of Asia next month.

The Give and Take Circle facilitation technique is designed to allow strangers to come together and bond closely together through the act of altruistic giving to help each other succeed. It’s roots draw inspirations from two books that I had read (Adam’s “Give and Take” and Barbara Sher’s “Wishcraft) and my indepth intellectual sparring with Mallika Kripalani on how to do it in corporate setting to come up with the initial design.

Over the last 1+ years, I tested my design multiple rounds in different contexts and people and incorporated my expertise in LEGO(R) Six Bricks to eventually came up with my current design. It is a design that I am very confident that it will help build deep sense of belonging within community and organisations (e.g. Tech Talent Assembly) among people over time when done well.

It is a wonderful feeling to be able to play a critical part in helping deepen the connections and camaraderie among the mentors and mentees who were presented just 2 nights ago in LinkedIn APAC office for the monthly mentor-mentee meetup.

It is a perfect example of the belief that you never know how your actions can make a difference in the lives of another, until you do it.

My coddiwompling journey to use LEGO(R) Six Bricks and facilitation skills to make a difference to lives of others continues …

Thank you Sam Neo for this opportunity to serve and to the participants, for your vote of trust and encouragement.
